CUAE was established in 2016 initially through a partnership between the School of Biomedical Engineering, Capital Medical University (Beijing, China), the Institute of Sound & Vibration Research, University of Southampton (UK) and TingLi Ltd. Within its first year, CUAE facilitated visits by seven students and several academics and clinicians between the two countries. The goal of CUAE’s second year is to grow the number of partners, the range of activities and visits, and the impact on our students’ education and graduate opportunities.

MSc in Audiology at University of Southampton
CUAE is an official partner with the University of Southampton, having over 6,500 international students from over 135 countries. As part of the CUAE you will be joining the international community of students.
The Hearing and Balance Centre at the University of Southampton are a team of clinical audiologists, clinical scientists, research scientists and cochlear implant audiologists who are passionate about improving quality of life for those with hearing and balance disorders.
There is a lot to learn in a year and the lectures are more in-depth than at undergraduate level but the academic staff are open, friendly and approachable. I like the weekly practicals as we get to use the theory we learn in class in real life and that helps us to understand complex topics.
As a visiting undergraduate, I felt welcomed at Southampton and liked the friendly atmosphere on campus and the chance to carry out practical experiments at this early stage in our academic career so I wanted to come back as a postgraduate student.
